Welcome to my world! I’m a cliff diver and that is multi-colored and mind-blowing. So much more than just a sports which we practice within our small community. It’s skill and grace, free fall and lightness, concentration and control – my passion has so many different aspects, all compressed in two seconds of pure joyfulness. Dive with me!
I was born in 1983 in Mutlangen/Germany. From early childhood on I loved sports and exercise. When I discovered diving at the age of 13 I had already been performing in national competitions as a gymnast. After that I became a springboard and platform diver for many years until 2005 when I eventually took part in my first ever High Diving event. Since then this sport has a grip on me! Following my passion opened many doors … After having performed in the world’s biggest aquatic show production in Macau/China and after being on the podium at the first ever High Diving World Championships in Barcelona 2013, I am currently member of the German national team and preparing for the FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan/Russia.
Besides my sports career I decided to pass a formation as a secondary school teacher for English, Spanish and Geography. Like this I found a way of combining my ambition for sport with an independent professional career. As a teacher trainee and an active athlete I am currently living both aspects.
Seventeen years of active diving left traces. Here are the most beautiful ones:
- 8-times WHDF European Champion between 2005 and 2014
- 1st place of the first ever Red Bull Cliff Diving Women Event in Malcesine, Italy 2013
- Bronze medalist FINA World Championship High Diving Barcelona 2013
- 7th place FINA High Diving World Cup Kazan, Russia 2014
- 2nd place Red Bull World Series 2014
- Silver medalist FINA High Diving Wold Cup Cozumel, Mexico 2015
- personal best in terms of height: 24.5 m Red Bull Cliff Diving Polignano,Italy 2008

Cliff Diving booms. When I started getting into the sport in 2005 the situation was very different- especially for women there were almost no competitions at all. Luckily that has changed. Here is a short overview over the upcoming events which must not be missed!
Upcoming Events for 2015: Don’t miss out!
The city on the Wolga riverside offers an extraordinary scenery with its Russian-orthodox architecture and monuments.
Polignano a Mare
Polignano a Mare is an excellent spot for Cliff Diving: The city itself is right at a cliff next to the sea.
Results Season 2015
- 09. May: Silver Medal Fina World Cup in Cozumel, Mexico
- 20. May: 4th Place at the Red Bull Cliff Diving – Texas
WHDF European Championship
The WHDF European Championship in Switzerland is a classic. We plunge off 13, 15 and 20 meter high granite rocks into the ice-cold depths of the Maggia River and we preferably spend the night at the nearby campsite. Always an adventure!
Another highlight of the season is the annual Highjump in the Czech Republic. Athletes, acrobats, freestyler, amateurs and everybody who is brave enough competes side to side with professional cliff divers and performs his dives from a set up scaffolding which offers platforms at the heights of 12 and 16 meters. It’s like a huge festival with different stages for rock and punk bands, fashion stands and a colorful audience who celebrates the participants like rock stars. Get ready to have a blast!
Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series
The most famous contest with a widespread media presence on a global scale is the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. It started in 2009 – back then, however, exclusively for men. Finally the first women event took place in Malcesine/Italy in 2013 and one year later the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series for Women celebrated a successful debut.
The integration of High Diving as a discipline in the program of the FINA World Championships in Barcelona 2013 gave another boost to the public perception of the sport. Eurosport transmitted the spectacular premiere from the harbor of Barcelona to all over the world.
Partner of Cliff Diving
My spectacular sport had literally been a “marginal” sport. Thanks to the cooperation of sponsors, media and different federations as well as personal commitment the public perception and recognition has noticeably improved. Thanks!
- Red Bull, organizer of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series
- FINA, organizer World Championships
- WHDF, organizer European Championships
- DSV providing training possibilities
First of all I would like to thank the lovely team of Red Bull for their financial and personal support. In 2008 I was still the only female performing exhibition dives together with Orlando and his gang in Hamburg´s harbor – five years later Red Bull launches the Women´s World Series in Cliff Diving!
In 2013 FINA, the most prestigious swimming federation, was courageous enough to provide us a platform in the World Championships. That was a great step forward – and we might be leaping towards the Olympics soon …
In this context I am very happy about the support of the German swimming federation (DSV). As a nominated member of the national team they provide me with training possibilities with world class coaches and fellow divers.
A very special thanks goes also to the World High Diving Federation (WHDF). Since 2005 I am taking part in the European Championships in Switzerland – a real classic of European Cliff Diving and my first ever competition!
Besides these big parties which are supporting and pushing Cliff Diving on the highest level, I am extremely grateful to the following companies:
If you want I will dive for you! And if you want I will launch myself head first into suitable advertising campaigns for your products, like sportswear, shoes, sunglasses, TV spots and shows …
